Entryway: Part 1

right from the start I knew the entryway was going to be a challenge since it is more of two intersecting hallways that were equally long and too small to put in any furniture. there are still issues we are attacking with the space but my primary concern was that the walls needed a bright and cheery color.

I was aiming for San Francisco sky and although neither picture really does the color justice I think I got what I was looking for. The next project was some way to hang all of those cards we got from the wedding. I had seen a few neat ideas online but I was really looking for something in the ballpark of $30 - $40 that didn't require a lot of artistic effort on my side. fortunately, while perusing the internet I saw an idea on Martha Stewart's website.

I didn't have access to antique wooden shutters to refinish and paint... but Home Depot had some faux shutters in white that were the perfect size and cost $25 a pair. Hang them on the wall upside-down and ta-da!
