i'd like to get that in writing

I have no idea why I thought I should make a list of my 50 favorite movies - and I kept passing over it because it felt very email chain Q&A-ish.  I came up with a few silly reasons to create such a list but when it comes down to it I really wanted to have a list to check against and make sure the niece is being brought up right...

Master Bathroom: Stage 1

The Master Bath was one of the last rooms we painted but it has still been done for almost a year.  Photography fail.  Chad is actually the one with big plans for this room but that probably won't be happening at least until Chad is home more than 10 hours a week.

When we moved in it looked like this:

And now:

I have many hopes for this room but as it is completely functional as is - I am fine waiting to do construction as long as is necessary :)

Guest Bathroom Style Board

I have so many ideas for the bathroom and when I try to discuss them with Chad he rolls his eyes.  So I will share my ideas with you. Yellow, beach themed, floating shelves.  That is the gist of it.

The greatest part is that it really only involves the yellow paint and the floating shelves since the bathroom is already beachy.

Now if only I didn't have that pesky job in the way of getting this finished!

violets are blue

The most ridiculous idea I came up with for my 101 project was to have an indoor herb garden.  I've wanted a small garden for awhile but at this point in my life we have no backyard.  And as far as I can tell I inherited my mother's ability to grow things indoor... which is a complete and utter inability to grow things indoor.  A black thumb if you will.  The thumb of death my dad called it.

When I was younger, every 6 months my mom would stubbornly purchase a miniature sage bush and place it next to the sink so she would remember to water it - and therefore prove us wrong.  and several weeks later it would be dead, dried out, and sporting cheerios on it's dead limbs.  I don't know why we did that but I'm sure it had something to do with Salt Lake City and the small amount of kicks you can get before you can drive.

This past Christmas my sister, Annie, got me an indoor herb garden kit.  I followed all the instructions diligently and even downloaded an app on my phone to remind me to water my seeds. But I didn't take pictures or get too excited because I had absolutely no faith that anything would grow.  I was very convinced that I had inherited the dreaded black thumb from my mother.

But despite the fact that the best window sill for sun in the condo is the room furthest from the kitchen sink where I might be more likely to remember to water it, my self proclaimed black thumb, and my general ability to forget about things...

I grew herbs!!! Basil, Cilantro, and Parsley.  Maybe I'll expand on to other things... or maybe I'll just stick to keeping these alive for awhile :)

Guest Bathroom: Stage 1

The guest bathroom doubles as Chad's bathroom and it was one of the first rooms I painted (yes, this bathroom was done almost 18 months ago).

It's coincidentally going to be one of the next rooms I paint since I wasn't clear on what all the words on the front of the paint can meant and didn't realize how glossy it was going to be when dry.  But I'm getting ahead of myself.

This is what it looked like when we moved in:

And this is what it looks like now:

The green was a lot greener than I intended.  Also, I have better ideas for the space above the toilet.  But it is nice looking back on how bad it used to be - or I guess just how un-lived in it used to look :)
