Over the past few trips to the two Disney Resorts I randomly started collecting Disney Pins. The pins are kind of like Beanie Babies in that their soul purpose seems to be as a collectible item that’s individual popularity drives up it’s price. Generally I don’t collect things, but there were a handful of pins that I kept seeing and ultimately felt would be neat to own, so it started like a small, but containable virus. I’m trying to keep it in check 🙂

I wanted to have a place to display the pins and I had an idea how I wanted it to look, but I was pretty certain that what I wanted wasn’t something you could buy in a store. Especially since the pins are meant to be worn on a lanyard around your neck. While looking through the few pieces of garbage stuff that I keep around for cases such as these, I was able to put together a pin board without buying anything. Yay!

I have had the frame FOREVER, I think I bought it on my first adult trip to Disneyland in 2007. I had it sitting on the window sill in the old office and after a year of sitting in almost daily direct sunlight, the backing warped. I got rid of the backing and the glass, but I couldn’t bring myself to throw away the frame.

The grate was something I bought a while back for my jewelry frame. I hot glued the two together and voila! a pin board! I stuck it next to my computer, so when I’m having a bad day I can think about Disney and smile 😉
