One of the first things I ever learned how to “fold” was socks.  I remember vividly having a color coded and organized sock drawer from a very young age – sometimes I would open it to smile.  I longed for my other drawers to be as easy.  All in good time, young me.

I was redoing my dresser drawers recently, getting rid of excess socks and other under things – and I kept getting frustrated with the drawer organizers I’d previously owned.  I mean, can we discuss drawer organizers for a minute?  I cannot STAND the leftover wasted space that normal drawer organizers leave!  If we have to have every single dresser (not purchased from IKEA) having drawers of vastly different sizes, could we at least have drawer organizers in as many varying sizes?  How hard could that possibly be, people in charge of making drawer organizers???  Can I get an AMEN?!

Ahem.

I found these Custom Drawer Organizer Strips a while ago, and decided to use them for my sock drawer.  After moving things around and finally deciding on a cut, I was pretty excited with the outcome:

I don’t know if this is normal or not – but I roll my stockings – meaning, I fold them in half lengthwise and then roll them up.  It makes them easy to see and store.  Also, the dividers for the three different stockings are for leggings (bottom left), normal stockings (top left), and Halloween (top middle).

I definitely don’t have anything exciting or earth shattering in the way of socks – but the drawer brings just as much happiness to me as it did when I was a kid.

I saw in Better Homes and Gardens an idea to store socks in a large wide mouth glass jar… if I was short on drawer space, I might do that!  How do you store your socks?
